This time will try to figure out how to tweak the mw:Manual:Interface/Sidebar and mw:Extension:MobileFrontend / mw:Skin:Minerva Neue, mainly for #SSF! wiki, but perhaps also others. Yesterday I figured out a procedure to correctly enable importing in my testwiki and after I got it to work I imported citation templates to the #BCM! wiki (predecessor of SSF! wiki), SSF! wiki and in Consumerium.   • Tested in a test wiki the procedure to Special:Import the citation templates and did it here and all the citation templates are being rendered correctly instead of just red links. I will try to get my notes on how to enable citation templates on a non-WMF wiki to shape to publish on some wiki where it serves the mw:Mediawiki instance maintainers. Found this picture yesterday and it seems like a wonderful source of technologies, most to be combatted, but there may be a few beneficial ones in there too. Saved an offline copy, because sometimes treasure disappears from the Internet.

So I set in LocalSettings.php

  • $wgAllowExternalImages = false; # not really needed, is false by default
  • $wgEnableImageWhitelist = true;

and enabled that particular image in MediaWiki:External image whitelist. Formatting external images is more challenging, but I would like to not copyvio this one.

Next I'm going to look into mw:Extension:ImageMap

  • The favicon.ico not showing up most of the time was fixed today. Thank you to Vulpix @ #mediawiki for singlehandedly solving this issue. The problem was that the location given for the favicon.ico was interpreted as relative to /wiki/, not root of the site. My appologies, now solved.
