• WP Wiki Tooltip Wordpress plugin by Nico Danneberg that provides tooltips from wiki into Wordpress was installed. It seems to work fine and it possibility to fetch tooltips from multiple wikis. Need to redo the links the Wordpress https://stop-synthetic-filth.org/wp/ with WP Wiki Tooltip. They need a lot of fixing after the recent changes to article names and new articles.

EVALUATING

• Considering mw:Extension:Cargo and mw:Extension:Page Forms for structured data in-wiki in SSFWIKI. Other alternative would be mw:Wikibase. Yaron Koren, who wrote Cargo, also wrote the 'Working with MediaWiki book at workingwithmediawiki.com. In the book the relevant parts are found in Chapter 16 - Cargo and Semantic MediaWiki and Chapter 17 - Page Forms.

• For Wordpress moving away from Polylang to automatic translation with GTranslate. Whether GTranslate would play along nicely with WP Wiki Tooltip and RDP Wiki Embed remains to be discovered. Maybe set up a staging Wordpress just to test this out. There is an another Wordpress translator plugin called 'Google Language Translator' with very high reviews, but it has been purchased by the company behind Gtranslate, and remains to see if the plan to phase out that.

• RDP Wiki Embed Wordpress plugin by Robert D Payne at wordpress.org allows embedding (with reformatting possible) of mw:MediaWiki articles into Wordpress. See e.g. https://stop-synthetic-filth.org/wp/2021/12/a-disarming-weapon-against-synthetic-filth-by-facepinpoint-com-existed-from-2017-to-2021/ for how it works.

• Moved Laws against synthetic filth to Laws against synthesis and other related crimes. Needed to recover from db backup a few times to do it and had some technical difficulties the 2nd time around. Lesson turned out to be an old well known one: Always restart any caching system, such as the mw:Memcached that makes MediaWiki fly, instead of just running, if doing any changes that the software does not anticipate.

Recently added new articles to the SSFWIKI:

2. ssfwiki:Organizations and events against synthetic human-like fakes (split from ssfwiki:Synthetic human-like fakes) and
3. ssfwiki:Help against appearance and voice theft (just a stub).

Also content and explanatory additions, structural improvements and other improvements to other articles have been made, like

1. Renaming the biblical stuff article to ssfwiki:Biblical connection - Revelation 13 and Daniel 7 which is truer to its scope and
2. Renaming the legal stuff article to ssfwiki:Laws against synthesis and other related crimes.

Considering mw:Extension:ShortDescription

Considering mw:Extension:ShortDescription for better user experience for mobile visitors and it has some other advantages too and looks very straightforward to take into use.

Considering mw:Extension:AutoSitemap for w:Site map solution

Considering mw:Extension:AutoSitemap, an extension to automatically keep the w:site map up-to-date and to inform the usual search engines periodically if it has changed. This would probably help search engines pick up new changes faster.

Possibility to improve the popups by adding a gadget

After searching a while I found out that the mw:Extension:Popups implements w:Page Previews (SSFWIKI has this now), but the gadget that implements w:Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups is a different thing. Got some expert help in irc as Reedy said that

so I'm going to look into pursuing a similar popup system as Wikipedia has. There are some advantages with w:Wikipedia:Tools/Navigation popups e.g. renders more prettily, popups contain clickable links, popups contain quick access links to wiki editing functionality.
