15 and let him that is on the housetop not go down into the house, neither enter therein, to take any thing out of his house:

16 and let him that is in the field not turn back again for to take up his garment.

15 Someone who is on the roof of his house must not lose time by going down into the house to get anything to take with him.

16 Someone who is in the field must not go back to the house for his cloak.

3 Do not let anyone deceive you in any way. For the Day will not come until the final Rebellion takes place and the Wicked One appears, who is destined for hell.

4 He will oppose every so-called god or object of worship and will put himself above them all. He will even go in and sit down in God's Temple and claim to be God.

3 Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

4 who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

Revelation 13 - The two beasts

1 Then I saw a beast coming up out of the sea. It had ten horns and seven heads; on each of its horns there was a crown, and on each of its heads there was a name that was insulting to God.

2 The beast looked like a leopard, with feet like a bear's feet and a mouth like a lion's mouth. The dragon gave the beast his own power, his throne, and his vast authority.

3 One of the heads of the beast seemed to have been fatally wounded, but the wound had healed. The whole earth was amazed and followed the beast.

4 Everyone worshipped the dragon because he had given his authority to the beast. They worshipped the beast also, saying, “Who is like the beast? Who can fight against it?”

5 The beast was allowed to make proud claims which were insulting to God, and it was permitted to have authority for 42 months.

6 It began to curse God, his name, the place where he lives, and all those who live in heaven.

7 It was allowed to fight against God's people and to defeat them, and it was given authority over every tribe, nation, language, and race.

8 All people living on earth will worship it, except those whose names were written before the creation of the world in the book of the living which belongs to the Lamb that was killed.

9 “Listen, then, if you have ears!

10 Whoever is meant to be captured will surely be captured; whoever is meant to be killed by the sword will surely be killed by the sword. This calls for endurance and faith on the part of God's people.”

11 Then I saw another beast, which came up out of the earth. It had two horns like a lamb's horns, and it spoke like a dragon.

12 It used the vast authority of the first beast in its presence. It forced the earth and all who live on it to worship the first beast, whose wound had healed.

13 This second beast performed great miracles; it made fire come down out of heaven to earth in the sight of everyone.

14 And it deceived all the people living on earth by means of the miracles which it was allowed to perform in the presence of the first beast. The beast told them to build an image in honour of the beast that had been wounded by the sword and yet lived.

15 The second beast was allowed to breathe life into the image of the first beast, so that the image could talk and put to death all those who would not worship it.

16 The beast forced all the people, small and great, rich and poor, slave and free, to have a mark placed on their right hands or on their foreheads.

17 No one could buy or sell without having this mark, that is, the beast's name or the number that stands for the name.

18 This calls for wisdom. Whoever is intelligent can work out the meaning of the number of the beast, because the number stands for a human name. Its number is 666.

1 And I stood upon the sand of the sea, and saw a beast rise up out of the sea, having seven heads and ten horns, and upon his horns ten crowns, and upon his heads the name of blasphemy.

5 And there was given unto him a mouth speaking great things and blasphemies; and power was given unto him to continue forty and two months.

6 And he opened his mouth in blasphemy against God, to blaspheme his name, and his tabernacle, and them that dwell in heaven.

7 And it was given unto him to make war with the saints, and to overcome them: and power was given him over all kindreds, and tongues, and nations.

8 And all that dwell upon the earth shall worship him, whose names are not written in the book of life of the Lamb slain from the foundation of the world.

9 If any man have an ear, let him hear.

10 He that leadeth into captivity shall go into captivity: he that killeth with the sword must be killed with the sword. Here is the patience and the faith of the saints.

11 And I beheld another beast coming up out of the earth; and he had two horns like a lamb, and he spake as a dragon.

12 And he exerciseth all the power of the first beast before him, and causeth the earth and them which dwell therein to worship the first beast, whose deadly wound was healed.

13 And he doeth great wonders, so that he maketh fire come down from heaven on the earth in the sight of men,

14 and deceiveth them that dwell on the earth by the means of those miracles which he had power to do in the sight of the beast; saying to them that dwell on the earth, that they should make an image to the beast, which had the wound by a sword, and did live.

15 And he had power to give life unto the image of the beast, that the image of the beast should both speak, and cause that as many as would not worship the image of the beast should be killed.

16 And he causeth all, both small and great, rich and poor, free and bond, to receive a mark in their right hand, or in their foreheads:

17 and that no man might buy or sell, save he that had the mark, or the name of the beast, or the number of his name.

18 Here is wisdom. Let him that hath understanding count the number of the beast: for it is the number of a man; and his number is Six hundred threescore and six.

1 Minä näin, kuinka merestä nousi peto. Sillä oli kymmenen sarvea ja seitsemän päätä, ja kaikissa kymmenessä sarvessa oli kruunu ja jokaiseen päähän oli kirjoitettu herjaava nimi.

1 The angel also showed me the river of the water of life, sparkling like crystal, and coming from the throne of God and of the Lamb

2 and flowing down the middle of the city's street. On each side of the river was the tree of life, which bears fruit twelve times a year, once each month; and its leaves are for the healing of the nations.

3 Nothing that is under God's curse will be found in the city.

The throne of God and of the Lamb will be in the city, and his servants will worship him.

4 They will see his face, and his name will be written on their foreheads.

5 There shall be no more night, and they will not need lamps or sunlight, because the Lord God will be their light, and they will rule as kings for ever and ever. The Coming of Jesus

6 Then the angel said to me, “These words are true and can be trusted. And the Lord God, who gives his Spirit to the prophets, has sent his angel to show his servants what must happen very soon.”

7 “Listen!” says Jesus. “I am coming soon! Happy are those who obey the prophetic words in this book!”

8 I, John, have heard and seen all these things. And when I finished hearing and seeing them, I fell down at the feet of the angel who had shown me these things, and I was about to worship him.

9 But he said to me, “Don't do it! I am a servant together with you and with your brothers the prophets and with all those who obey the words in this book. Worship God!”

10 And he said to me, “Do not keep the prophetic words of this book a secret, because the time is near when all this will happen.

11 Whoever is evil must go on doing evil, and whoever is filthy must go on being filthy; whoever is good must go on doing good, and whoever is holy must go on being holy.”

12 “Listen!” says Jesus. “I am coming soon! I will bring my rewards with me, to give to each one according to what he has done.

13 I am the first and the last, the beginning and the end.”

14 Happy are those who wash their robes clean and so have the right to eat the fruit from the tree of life and to go through the gates into the city.

15 But outside the city are the perverts and those who practise magic, the immoral and the murderers, those who worship idols and those who are liars both in words and deeds.

16 “I, Jesus, have sent my angel to announce these things to you in the churches. I am descended from the family of David; I am the bright morning star.”

17 The Spirit and the Bride say, “Come!”

Everyone who hears this must also say, “Come!”

Come, whoever is thirsty; accept the water of life as a gift, whoever wants it.

18 I, John, solemnly warn everyone who hears the prophetic words of this book: if anyone adds anything to them, God will add to his or her punishment the plagues described in this book.

19 And if anyone takes anything away from the prophetic words of this book, God will take away from them their share of the fruit of the tree of life and of the Holy City, which are described in this book.

20 He who gives his testimony to all this says, “Yes indeed! I am coming soon!”

So be it. Come, Lord Jesus!

21 May the grace of the Lord Jesus be with everyone.

1 And he shewed me a pure river of water of life, clear as crystal, proceeding out of the throne of God and of the Lamb.

2 In the midst of the street of it, and on either side of the river, was there the tree of life, which bare twelve manner of fruits, and yielded her fruit every month: and the leaves of the tree were for the healing of the nations.

3 And there shall be no more curse: but the throne of God and of the Lamb shall be in it; and his servants shall serve him:

4 and they shall see his face; and his name shall be in their foreheads.

5 And there shall be no night there; and they need no candle, neither light of the sun; for the Lord God giveth them light: and they shall reign for ever and ever.

6 And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to shew unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.

7 Behold, I come quickly: blessed is he that keepeth the sayings of the prophecy of this book.

8 And I John saw these things, and heard them. And when I had heard and seen, I fell down to worship before the feet of the angel which shewed me these things.

9 Then saith he unto me, See thou do it not: for I am thy fellowservant, and of thy brethren the prophets, and of them which keep the sayings of this book: worship God.

10 And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

11 He that is unjust, let him be unjust still: and he which is filthy, let him be filthy still: and he that is righteous, let him be righteous still: and he that is holy, let him be holy still.

12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be.

13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last.

14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.

15 For without are dogs, and sorcerers, and whoremongers, and murderers, and idolaters, and whosoever loveth and maketh a lie.

16 I Jesus have sent mine angel to testify unto you these things in the churches. I am the root and the offspring of David, and the bright and morning star.

17 And the Spirit and the bride say, Come. And let him that heareth say, Come. And let him that is athirst come. And whosoever will, let him take the water of life freely.

18 For I testify unto every man that heareth the words of the prophecy of this book, If any man shall add unto these things, God shall add unto him the plagues that are written in this book:

19 and if any man shall take away from the words of the book of this prophecy, God shall take away his part out of the book of life, and out of the holy city, and from the things which are written in this book.

20 He which testifieth these things saith, Surely I come quickly. Amen. Even so, come, Lord Jesus.

21 The grace of our Lord Jesus Christ be with you all. Amen.

Jumalaa sinun tulee kumartaa!» 10     Sitten minulle sanottiin:     »Älä sulje sinetillä tämän kirjan ennussanoja, sillä hetki on lähellä. 11 Jumalaton eläköön yhä jumalattomasti, saastainen rypeköön saastassaan, vanhurskas harjoittakoon vanhurskautta ja pyhä edetköön pyhyyden tiellä.

12     »Minä tulen pian, ja tullessani minä tuon jokaiselle palkan, maksan kullekin hänen tekojensa mukaan. 13 Minä olen A ja O, ensimmäinen ja viimeinen, alku ja loppu.

14     »Autuaita ne, jotka pesevät vaatteensa: he pääsevät syömään elämän puusta ja saavat mennä porteista sisälle kaupunkiin.

15 Ulkopuolelle jäävät koirat ja noidat, irstailijat, murhaajat ja epäjumalien palvelijat ja kaikki, jotka rakastavat valhetta ja noudattavat sitä.

16     »Minä, Jeesus, olen lähettänyt enkelin luoksenne, jotta seurakunnat saisivat tämän todistuksen. Minä olen Daavidin juuriverso ja suku, kirkas aamutähti.»

17     Henki ja morsian sanovat: »Tule!» Joka tämän kuulee, sanokoon: »Tule!» Joka on janoissaan, tulkoon. Joka haluaa, saa lahjaksi elämän vettä.

18     Jokaiselle, joka kuulee tämän kirjan ennussanat, minä vakuutan: Jos joku panee niihin jotakin lisää, panee Jumala hänen kärsittävikseen ne vitsaukset, joista tässä kirjassa on kerrottu. 19 Jos joku ottaa pois jotakin tämän ennustusten kirjan sanoista, ottaa Jumala pois hänen osallisuutensa elämän puuhun ja pyhään kaupunkiin, joista tässä kirjassa on kerrottu. 20     Hän, joka todistaa tämän, sanoo: »Tämä on tosi, minä tulen pian.» Aamen. Tule, Herra Jeesus!

21     Herran Jeesuksen armo olkoon kaikkien kanssa.


1 Ja hän näytti minulle elämän veden virran, joka kirkkaana kuin kristalli juoksi Jumalan ja Karitsan valtaistuimesta.

2 Keskellä sen katua ja virran molemmilla puolilla oli elämän puu, joka kantoi kahdettoista hedelmät, antaen joka kuukausi hedelmänsä, ja puun lehdet ovat kansojen tervehtymiseksi.

5 Eikä yötä ole enää oleva, eivätkä he tarvitse lampun valoa eikä auringon valoa, sillä Herra Jumala on valaiseva heitä, ja he hallitsevat aina ja iankaikkisesti.

10     Ja hän sanoi minulle: "Älä lukitse tämän kirjan profetian sanoja; sillä aika on lähellä.

11 Vääryyden tekijä tehköön edelleen vääryyttä, ja joka on saastainen, saastukoon edelleen, ja joka on vanhurskas, tehköön edelleen vanhurskautta, ja joka on pyhä, pyhittyköön edelleen.

12     Katso, minä tulen pian, ja minun palkkani on minun kanssani, antaakseni kullekin hänen tekojensa mukaan.

13 Minä olen A ja O, ensimmäinen ja viimeinen, alku ja loppu.

14      Autuaat ne, jotka pesevät vaatteensa, että heillä olisi valta syödä elämän puusta ja he pääsisivät porteista sisälle kaupunkiin!

15 Ulkopuolella ovat koirat ja velhot ja huorintekijät ja murhaajat ja epäjumalanpalvelijat ja kaikki, jotka valhetta rakastavat ja tekevät.

16      Minä, Jeesus, lähetin enkelini todistamaan näitä teille seurakunnissa. Minä olen Daavidin juurivesa ja hänen suvustansa, se kirkas kointähti."

17      Ja Henki ja morsian sanovat: "Tule!" Ja joka kuulee, sanokoon: "Tule!" Ja joka janoaa, tulkoon, ja joka tahtoo, ottakoon elämän vettä lahjaksi.

18      Minä todistan jokaiselle, joka tämän kirjan profetian sanat kuulee: Jos joku panee niihin jotakin lisää, niin Jumala on paneva hänen päällensä ne vitsaukset, jotka ovat kirjoitetut tähän kirjaan;

19 ja jos joku ottaa pois jotakin tämän profetian kirjan sanoista, niin Jumala on ottava pois sen osan, mikä hänellä on elämän puuhun ja pyhään kaupunkiin, joista tässä kirjassa on kirjoitettu.

20      Hän, joka näitä todistaa, sanoo: "Totisesti, minä tulen pian". Amen, tule, Herra Jeesus!

21      Herran Jeesuksen armo olkoon kaikkien kanssa. Amen.
